Description

The fifth biennial Boots & BBQ Un-Gala will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 4 to 8 pm. It will be held at the Shawnee Town Hall in Shawnee, Kansas, and, with Lisa McBee as our entertainer, the event promises to be an inspiring and fun-filled event for all our attendees! There will be a delicious BBQ Dinner with drinks, a Live & Silent Auction, and several fun games. The Boots & BBQ Un-Gala is our signature fundraiser, those proceeds support the mission the operations of MDHAC to advance and preserve knowledge about Deaf people, their languages, cultures, and experiences in the United States and around the world. As an independently-owned and Deaf-run nonprofit public museum in the nation, we provide programs and informational content in the areas of Deafhood and Deaf Gain within the areas of Deaf History, Arts and Culture.
